Installed on local site (MAMP) and it works beautifully.
However, on live site it installs and is selectable in Global Config and all looks good in Admin, but on the front end all that happens is that the original ReCaptcha image disappears from view but is still active.
I'm sure its a server issue of some sort. Are you able to offer any insight as to why this might be, e.g. PHP module that's needed maybe? I'm on PHP 7.1.14 if that helps.

Yep, completely invisible on my local MAMP site and as it should be.
However, on my live site (exact copy of local site) after selecting HashCash in Global Config instead of the Joomla default ReCaptcha, the frontend of the site doesn't behave the same way as the local site. All that happens is that the ReCaptcha image doesn't show; ReCaptcha remains active though (e.g. the " captcha* " text is still there on the forms) and hitting "Submit" results in a "Captcha required" error message.
I've cleared all caches (site, browser, server).
Would a screen-shot help?
I'm sure it's not a HashCash issue as it behaves perfectly on the local site. Tempted to try deleting ReCaptcha plugin from live site!
