The plugin 'Ageof' works fantastic.
I just cannot find out how to change the words 'years', 'months' and 'days'.
Not in the backend of my Joomla-site and not in de CSS.
Anybody ?

I have the same problem. Best solution is to create a complete dutch translation and to incorporate it in the installation package. A shortcut is to create language overrides for PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_YEAR="year"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_YEARS="years"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_MONTH="month"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_MONTHS="months"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_DAY="day"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_DAYS="days"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_HOUR="hour"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_HOURS="hours"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_MINUTE="minute"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_MINUTES="minutes"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_SECOND="second"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_SECONDS="seconds"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_LESSTHANMINUTE="less than a minute"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_AND=" and "
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_AGO="ago"
PLG_CONTENT_AGEOF_FROMNOW="from now"

Of course if the author needs a complete translation into dutch I am willing to help.

Hi Hans,

Thanks for your suggestion.
It works, but it's a lot of work, especially for a word like 'and'.
Therefor I used another extension.
Still, creating language overrides is not a common, but very interesting method.
Cheers,

Jan

Language overrides are very common, which is why it was made into a component. In older version of Joomla it was done in a manually edited text file.

Thanks Michael!

Language overrides are only useful for the website they were added to. When you want a plugin to be used in different countries or languages, you will have to add a .ini and .sys.ini file for each language at least. How to do this is described here: extensionsforjoomla.com/documentation/ho...into-other-languages

But then some languages have pecularities. In Dutch we don't use the plural form "jaren" when we mean the age of a being or thing, but the singular form "jaar". But we do use "jaren geleden" when we mean "years ago. The other time units are used in the same way as in English. With 'Age of' there will be no problem, as you can change the parameters for each case.

I write my extensions to utilize the Joomla language files, although I only speak English (and a tiny bit of French, probably enough to upset a Frenchman)
