Here you go. One configuration, the web path to the icon. It has some sanity checks. It only runs in /administrator, only runs on HTML documents, only runs if the configuration is correct, only runs if the favicon file exists.

Enjoy :)

Thank you Richey! I could not assign my favicon to the admin menu I created.
I installed over the already installed component zip 2.0.0.
I do not know how to apply your patch.
I did a test with another favicon put in place of the Isis favicon and your component does not change that favicon; I think I have assigned the favicon put in your component, but how?
Can you tell me more?
Best regards

This plugin is standalone. It's not part of the favicon component. It only offers one favicon for the whole /administrator backend.

1. Install the plugin
2. Edit its configuration and set the path to your favicon
3. Enable the plugin
4. enjoy your new /administrator favicon

I think you've done a great service to the Joomla! Community as usual!

The real meat-and-potatoes of my business is custom extension development. This little thing was a few minutes of time to me, but it's a big deal to you. In the future, if you need something really custom, I hope you come to me with the job.
