Plugin causing issue with other extension

Hi! We have installed 'PWT sitemap' on one of our websites. On this site we also use the HeadTag plugin.

When we create a menu item to an XML sitemap this menu item should produce a XML file, but in stead it shows the menu items in a HTML template view. I contacted the developer of the XML extension and they said the headTag plugin is somehow causing this. And indeed when we disable the headTag plugin the XML file shows in the browser, and when the HeadTag plugin is enabled the HTML template page shows up.

The URL: www.liberdrive.nl/sitemapxml

Any thought on why the HeadTag plugin might cause this and how we can fix this?

Kind regards,
Jip

When we force the XML format in the URL the XML does shows up even with the HeadTag plugin enabled:

www.liberdrive.nl/sitemapxml?format=xml

My plugin inspects the page before injecting tags - if the page isn't JDocumentHTML, it doesn't insert anything.

I can look at PWT sitemap to see if I can find the issue, if you'll send a copy. I use another sitemap extension, I only need PWT to find the issue.

This is the test run before injecting anything:
if ($this->app->isAdmin() || $this->_doc->getType() != 'html') {
    return true;
}
/* injections happen here */

The only way my plugin would affect the page is if the doc type is HTML
