This is the test run before injecting anything:
if ($this->app->isAdmin() || $this->_doc->getType() != 'html') {
    return true;
}
/* injections happen here */

The only way my plugin would affect the page is if the doc type is HTML

I can't make it fail on my test server. I'm choosing the "PWT Sitemap ยป Sitemap for search engines" menu type, and injecting a custom tag, CSS declaration, and Script declaration - and it still displays the XML as expected.

Am I missing something?

I noticed I had an older version of your plugin installed (3.4.0) so I installed the latest version and that seems to have solved this issue. Should have checked this sooner....

But we did not get an update notification in the Joomla extension updater... Does this plugin support the use of the update manager in Joomla?

Thanks for your help so far... And again sorry for me missing the outdated version.

I just found this:

Apparently, if there is an issue retrieving an update file, Joomla disables it temporarily.
