Great plugin, does what it says on the tin.
Suggestion - possible feature to add is the ability to remove other meta tags to strip out un-needed stuff to speed up the site and get more love from Google.
(for example, is not really needed.. so if we can enter "robots" as a parameter, it will kill that tag?

Those extra settings are found when editing the plugin configuration. By default, the plugin removes the generator tag. By modifying the settings, you can do the other things listed in the description.

I'm using Joomla! 2.5.4 and it's not working at all. The tag still exists in my RSS and ATOM feeds.
Though, I'm giving 4 stars because the idea is very good and I believe that this extension is working in older Joomla versions (that I've not tested).

It appears that you're correct about the generator tag in the atom feeds, but the plugin is working perfectly in RSS and HTML output on my test system running 2.5.4. You should have contacted me to report a bug instead of doing it here in the JED.

One comment though. The author says it is not really needed in 2.5 becaude you can edit a template file, though it seems that when you update to a new version then you have to re edit the file. The plugin saves you from having to do that after each new Joomla release.

That is very true! Any template that is a candidate for an online update will lose any modifications, such as the one described above. For those who roll-their-own templates though, it's a lighter solution than my plugin.

I had been looking for all the core files I would need to change and dreading every minute of it knowing I'll be updating some day and either have good notes or good memory. I appreciate the review - but I don't really understand what you mean about installing in the back-end in joomla 3.3. The ONLY way to install it is in the backend.
Do you mean you want to remove generator tags in /administrator? I suppose it could be modified to do that...
